The History
At the beginning, Casino Mastropaolo was an elegant country house immersed in the quiet of Puglia, an ancient hunting lodge from the early nineteenth century.
Among olive trees and wheat fields, time followed the rhythm of the seasons and the earth. Summer home of wealthy landowners and producers of oil and wheat, Mastropaolo was above all a place of meeting and life: laid tables, laughter in the countryside, guests welcomed with genuine cordiality. Every meeting became an opportunity to share, celebrate and create bonds. Hospitality was not a gesture, but a tradition.
Today Mastropà is an Exclusive Resort immersed in the Apulian countryside, in the Massafra countryside. It was born from the dream of a child who, from the window of his father's house, admired the large house with arches and wanted to cross that gate to breathe its magical harmony. In 2012, Mimmo Casulli and his wife Gianna, driven by their passion for this land, purchased that residence at the top of the hill overlooking the Gulf of Taranto.
After ten years of long restoration work and thousands of plants and trees planted, that old country house has found new life: it has become Mastropà. A place that lives again with its roots in the past, fueled by the passion of those who strongly believed in a dream, bringing with them a long history of passions, traditions, humanity and life.
The Family
We are Gianna and Mimmo, our children Francesco and Marco.
We are a happy family who lives in the south, in the wonderful Puglia. We wait every year for the summer to move to our small country house in Mastropà, a creation of ours, generated by a dream, moved by passion and love for our land and fueled by the desire to get involved, by people who work here with us every day, at our side. It has a great effect on us to think that we have come this far, that we have managed to open the doors of the house and today we watch an ordinary person, coming from who knows what part of the world, take a dip in the pool, stay in the hammock or walk in the woods and tell them: "Welcome to our home, this is your home!"
Hospitality
Mastropà is a hospitality project born from love for a territory rich in countless resources: historic villages, countryside surrounded by centenary olive trees, sea and excellent food.
We dedicate our time to our guests, taking care of them at any time of the day and offering all the services to enjoy a unique and comfortable experience of privacy and relaxation.
Mastropà guests are looked after by our team, available to satisfy all requests and to advise and organize the best itineraries. We love sharing with them our passion for food, good wine and restaurants where you can feel at home.

All this is accompanied by respect and love for the environment, thanks to the energy of the sun, the modern green building techniques used, the regeneration of the Mediterranean scrub and the planting of thousands of plants and trees and the use of 0 km products.
Mastropà reflects our philosophy and the values that compose it: hospitality, passion, welcome, care and comfort. A reality made up of people and not just places. Mastropà is a place that smells like home!
Cuisine
Mastropà's cuisine creatively reinterprets the Apulian tradition, enhancing the quality and authenticity of the 0 km, fresh, organic and seasonal products in every preparation. Olive groves, vegetable gardens, orchards and the small chicken coop provide authentic ingredients every day, different depending on the season, for a journey through the flavors of our land.
Our organic olive oil from centuries-old olive trees completes every dish, making each flavor unique and authentic.
Every morning, breakfast becomes a special moment: our cook prepares focaccias, cakes and scented biscuits in the small open kitchen, transforming the room into a place of sharing, smiles and warmth. It is a ritual that tells of the authentic welcome of Puglia, a moment of conviviality and simple pleasure, in which every guest feels part of our family.
At Mastropà, dining becomes an authentic experience to be savored by reservation, designed for a few guests and cared for in every detail. Our cook, with simple and skilled gestures, prepares dishes that tell the truest story of Apulian tradition, using fresh, seasonal ingredients grown in our own garden.
